Welcome, Sit down, and make yourself comfortable.

UTube is a business selling tubes, pipes, "tube mills" and other machinery. They complained a few weeks back that the site was being downed by heavy traffic as users looking for YouTube landed on their site instead, presumably by typing the wrong domain name. This downtime cost them a great deal of money in lost customers, they said. How big was the traffic spike? They claim unique visitors went from 1,500 to over 2 million per month. UTube has been forced to move hosts 5 times to cope with the traffic, with bandwidth bills increasing by a factor of 100, they claim. They registered the domain way back in 1996, so they have every claim to it - what’s more, they also argue that the UTube name is strongly tied to their identity.

this is just another ridiculous lawsuit. It's not like YouTube can help that people are typing in the wrong address. This is the thing I most hate about our legal system. Anyone can sue anyone for anything.

Any company complaining that they have too "much" traffic on their website shouldn't be allowed to have a website. What these morons need to do is hire an online ad agency that turns that traffic into dollars. YouTube users and UTube customers are not neccessarily mutually exclusive entities.

They should also go Google the search phrase "define:opportunity". Then meditate on the results for a bit.

YouTube should be forced to change their name, or changed to YouTube.kiddiecrap.com, or something similar. It's a shame that the UTube Company has to be hampered in it's business dealings by such an irreverant site!

That means that there are over 2,000,000 people that can't spell worth a damn. I think that makes me sad.

All the people who went to that site probably don't realize that 'you' is a word.

It's not suprising people can't spell. Mostly it's thanks to internet short-hand and texting, but also the younger generation's fixation with doing things their own way. The classic example is using 'u' instead of 'you'. It is truly sad.

We have a rising generation of people who speak and write in grunts and mumbles.

Maybe EweTube.com, ebeigh.com, PeyPal.com, and gugle.com had better look into this too then!

rediculous. We, the USA, have a horrable judicial system. This should be thrown outa the courts.
